World Cup 2010

As you know, I'm a huge fan of Holly and Lil  from London. In celebration of the World Cup they have added a Cross of St george collar to their Fly the Flag Collection for the England team!
The wonderful Union Jack Flag collar  is a total work of art, with its blue front and red piping framing two hand stitched Union Jacks. All collars come in a range of different sizes and have matching leads. Now all I'm waiting for the team's football strip!

Sweet Nina

This sweet cat Nina, was taken into BCSPCA as a pregnant stray in July 2007. Her kittens were soon adopted (as the norm with little babies), but poor Nina had to wait until the November of 2007 to get adopted. She was very happy in her new home and her new owners loved her very much, but on May 20, Nina broke her leg and the owners couldn’t pay for the surgery. They had to make the agonizing decision to surrender her. Nina’s surgery went well but she now needs 6 long weeks of kennel rest. The Blanket Fund has been able to help with some of her medical costs, but she needs a forever home and loads more love!

Useful bums

Just lately I have been finding lots of whimsey, and most of the products make perfect gifts for any animal lover. I discovered a site called Lazybone - their tag line is "Freaky, uniquey, gadgetry, geekery" and they have oodles of unusual, weird and wonderful things - not for animal lovers alone, but everything you could totally live without...if you wanted to! All the products I've featured today have one thing in common...bums!

Somewhere to stick your teatowel and easily attaches to tiles, walls, cupboards, doors and fridges!

Somewhere to sharpen your pencils. Apparently, as you sharpen they let out a reassuring 'Woof' or 'meow'

The sound is activated each time the pencil is inserted into the cat or dogs bum!

These lamps are for all lovers of cats, dogs or anything quirky. They're perfectly house trained, about 12 inches tall and will brighten up any dark corner!

We got paid by Cash

We finally met Cash yesterday at the Pet Adoption Fair. He was so full of life and almost ready for adoption.
Cash came into the care of VPAS (Victoria Pet Adoption Society) at 5 months old. He had a terrible broken back leg that had been caught in the tailgate of a truck as he jumped off. After his surgery he was placed in a foster home and for the past few weeks has been having physiotherapy including special water therapy with the great people at K9 Fit Fur Fun. Swimming allows Cash to slowly increase his activity level and build up his strength so he can get back to just being a puppy. The water enviroment promotes a full range of motion without having to endure the weight. The K9 Fit Fur Fun pool provides a great facility for dog lovers to promote good health and happiness in their dogs, in a clean and safe environment. They also offer several packages and treatments for your dogs and if you go to their site you'll see that the dogs absolutely love it too!
This facility has worked wonders with Cash and we are so pleased that the blanket fund has been able to provide some of this treatment for him. We are really very lucky that we can actually go and see him have his next treatment, but if want to see him in action here's a video
